Introduction

Redang Island is located on the east coast of western Malaysia, off the coast of Terengganu. It has always been a popular tourist destination where you can snorkel, dive deep and enjoy the beach. Among them, Redang Island, or Pulau Redang is part of the protected ,mainly to protect the island’s natural environment and animals.

This is recognized as one of the most beautiful islands in Malaysia. Redang Island is a heart-shaped pirate, known as the ‘Star of the sea’, the beach is white and the water is clear. Because of the shooting of that movie called Summer Holiday , Redang Island became more and more famous. Redang Island is becoming more and more lively, but also more commercial.

The tour lasts from March to October, when the sea is windy and waves are high, and the island is closed until March.

So what can we do in Redang Island? When visiting here, one of the interesting activities to do here is to go island hopping .There are many islands worth visiting here.

Beaches in Redang Island

After we arrived at Redang Island, we can see there are the beaches that doesn’t need filters, how to take pictures is beautiful. From near to far, from top to bottom, you can clearly see that the color is also from light blue to dark blue, very layered.

Diving & Snorkelling Redang Island

On this island we can admire the corals and explore the beautiful sea floor, and there are also diving lessons on this side where you can test your diving certificate. Among them, it is worth mentioning that diving on the island, it is possible to swim with turtles.

How to get to the Redang Island

By air

It is obviously that the most convenient way to Redang island is to take a domestic flight. The airport in here is Kuala Terengganu airport. If the departure is at Kuala Lumpur ,it will take about 55 minutes, while flying from Johor Bahru to here will take you about 80 minutes. Common flight timing may in the morning.

Upon arrival at the airport, take another half an hour’s drive to the Merang Jetty or Kuala Terengganu Shahbandar Jetty to the island.

By bus

If you are okay with long travelling by bus or coach,then you can take a bus from Kuala Lumpur , after about 7 hours to get to the two jetties and get to the island.Island.

By ferry

After arriving at Kuala Terengganu, ferries can be arranged through your hotel to the island.

For scheduled ferry, the arrival and departure timings are fixed to either Merang Jetty or Kuala Terengganu Shahbandar Jetty. Common ferry ride schedule is as follows:

From Merang Jetty: 9.30am

From Shahbandar Jetty: 9am, 10.30am, 3pm

Tips during the new norm

With the global corona virus pandemic, traveling got a lot more of a consideration than you didn’t have before.

1.The most important first point is that we need to wear masks all the time and use disinfectant water often.

2.Visitors will now start checking their temperature when they arrive at the pier, providing disinfected water, while the ferry place also has a social distance.There are also daily disinfection measures in various social venues and hotels.

3.Everyone travelling anywhere needs to leave their name, contact number, date and time of visit, and if a family member or any member of the team develops symptoms of Covid-19, they will not be allowed to board or continue travelling.The hotel can be notified as long as there is uncomfortable behavior and the hospital will have measures in place.

4.If travel is restricted by national policy, the hotel allows guests to delay their arrival.

5.Open the island in March and start booking hotels in February, pay attention to the weather and try to avoid the rain.

6.Nude is not allowed on the beach.

7.There are no ATM on the island, please bring enough cash.
